Slow travel immersed in local life, culture, food and wine.
Thoughtfully curated journeys beyond the expected.
Thoughtful travel, shaped by experience and strong local connection.
Founded by Esther Diffey, Still Life Travel designs highly personalised journeys across Europe, with a particular affinity for Italy and Spain, and a close connection to places like Venice and the Basque region. Each journey is thoughtfully curated to be slow, immersive, and grounded in local life, culture, food, and wine.
Designed for travellers who have seen the highlights and are seeking something more considered, more connected, and less expected.
Esther designs highly personalised journeys, informed by a nuanced understanding of place, culture, food, and daily life. Having grown up in Melbourne and travelled extensively from a young age, and having lived in New York, Brussels, and San Sebastián, Esther understands what it means to truly experience a place, not just visit it. This perspective shapes every journey, unhurried, immersive, and connected to its surroundings.
Working closely with a trusted network of local partners, including hoteliers, restaurateurs, guides, and transport providers, Esther creates journeys that feel seamless and rooted in place. Esther can assist with every aspect of travel, from air and rail to private transfers, ferries, accommodation, restaurant reservations, and cultural experiences.
Esther believes in slow, meaningful travel, journeys that tread lightly, support local communities, and leave a positive impact on the places visited. A more considered way to travel.

Still Life Travel acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which it is based, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As a travel practice shaped by place, culture and connection, Still Life Travel recognises that every landscape holds deep histories and enduring custodianship. I travel with respect for First Nations peoples and local communities everywhere, honouring their continuing connection to land, culture and identity.
